Now, It Works! has an opportunity to have a global impact with Food for the Hungry. Food for the Hungry is a non-profit relief organization that works alongside children and families working in impoverished countries. Without Food for the Hungry, these children and communities wouldn’t be reached. We are encouraging our It Works! family that if they feel passionate about helping, to please adopt a child through Food for the Hungry. Your sponsorship will promote education, medical care, clean water, and nutrition for the child. You can also communicate and even visit your child! By sponsoring a child, you are bringing physical and spiritual transformation to many.
Every fall the It Works! team comes together and participates in a Walk for MPS, otherwise known as Miles for MPS. Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) and related diseases are genetic lysosomal storage diseases caused by the body's inability to produce specific enzymes. Although there is currently no cure for MSP, research is making great strides. It Works! is proud to give back to this particular cause, because our Director of Research and Innovation has two sons with MPS. In July 2011, Hope Family Services was in need of having part of their domestic violence shelter painted. So It Works! employees came together to help this organization. HOPE is located in Bradenton, Florida, providing services to survivors of domestic violence. Also during the summer of 2011, It Works! employees, local Manatee County distributors, and friends participated in a clothing drive for the local Women's Resource Center. This organization is committed to providing a welcoming environment where all women can participate in programs and services that enrich, education, and empower them to realize their full potential.. It Works! strives to help organizations practically with time and resources.
From 2009-2010, It Works! housed a "giving tree" on which ornaments were hung that listed items for needy families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. The It Works! team came together to provide clothes, toys, and food for these families during the holiday season. Arbor Circle believes in the positive power of healthy individuals and families to build a solid foundation for the future. Arbor Circle provides services to homeless youth and families in need to prevent problems with a focus on healthy relationships. Services are provided for mental illness, job development, educational programs, substance prevention and awareness and much more to help build a brighter future. We hope to continue this tradition for a different organization located in Florida. !
